- 1 loaf of frozen bread dough
- 2-3 eight-ounce cans of tomato sauce
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- Pepperoni (sliced)
- Dried oregano
- Salt and pepper
- Shortening Pam (or other substance for greasing the pan in order to prevent pizza from sticking to the pan)
- Rolling pin (for rolling out the dough)
- Hard, flat surface (for rolling out the dough)
- Circular flat pan (for baking the pizza)
- Pizza cutter (or sharp knife for slicing the pizza when it`s baked)
Preparation Step by Step
Thaw the loaf of bread. You can put the frozen loaf on a plate, cover it with a paper towel and leave it for a few hours till it is completely thawed.
Pre-heat the oven to 360 degrees.
Dust a section of a clean, hart, flat surface with flour. You can use the table or the kitchen counter top.
Roll the bread dough into a ball. Dust the ball of dough and the rolling pin with flour.
Roll out the bread dough until it becomes a thin, flat circular surface. Use your hands to stretch the dough and roll it with the rolling pin. Keep on flattening until the dough is between 14 and 16 inches in diameter. If the circle is smaller, the pizza will have a thicker crust.
Grease a round pizza pan with vegetable shortening or other non-stick products. Place the rolled out bread dough on the pizza pan.
Put the pan with the dough in the oven for about 5 minutes till the dough gets golden brown. If the pizza has a small diameter, in consequence the crust is thicker and you must let it bake for a longer time. While baking, check it from time to time and make sure you poke and deflate with a knife any large air bubbles that may appear. This partial baking will make the crust firm up and not allow the tomato sauce to soak into it and make it soggy.
Remove the pan from the oven.
Sprinkle some grated cheese on the crust, then pour tomato sauce on the crust by distributing it evenly with a spoon or a spatula. You can sprinkle any seasonings you want over the tomato sauce such as oregano, salt and pepper.
Sprinkle mozzarella over the top and put other toppings such as pepperoni evenly on the pizza. You can order the toppings as you wish.
Put the pizza back in the oven until the cheese completely melts.
Remove from the oven, cut into slices and serve.
