Hollywood celebrities are taking a leap of faith by saying “yes” to pregnancies over 40 and the associated risks. From Celine Dion to Uma Thurman, find out who are the pregnant celebrities that became mothers in their 40’s.

Halle Berry
At 46, Halle is pregnant with her second child with fiance Oliver Martinez. Her first pregnancy was also in her 40’s with much expected daughter Nahla. The new pregnancy took her by surprise, although is very rare for a woman that age to conceive naturally. With a healthy diet, exercise, proper nutrition and prenatal care, Halle and her baby can stay healthy.

Celin Dion
At age 42, Celine Dion announced that she and her husband Rene Angelil are expecting twins. A year before the pregnancy, Celine had an unfortunate miscarriage. The five-time Grammy Award winner delievered Nelson and Eddy by a C-section at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Palm Beach in 2010. Her first child, Rene-Charles was born in 2001 after 6 in-vitro fertilization attempts.

Uma Thurman
Mother of two children, Maya 14 and Levon 11, the former wife of Ethan Hawke is one of those pregnant celebrities that tricked her biological clock and became a mother once again at age 41. The Kill Bill star gave birth to a daughter with fiance Arpad Busson on July 15 and made a quick recovery.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole had her first sun, Suday Rose at the age of 40 with Keith Urban, her husband. She had a miscarriage while married to former husband Tom Cruise so the two decided to adopt Connor and Isabella. Nicole wanted to be a mother again and in 2010 her daughter Faith Margaret was born with a gestational carrier. The actress was inspired by her grandmother who gave birth at the age of 49.

Salma Hayek
Salma became a mother at the age of 41, continuing the pregnant celebrities tradition. She feared that her daughter Valentine could have Down Syndrome until late may 2007. In April 2009 she married her fiance, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault. She didn’t have any trouble getting pregnant but the fear that her child has Down was agonizing.

Susan Sarandon
The 65 year old actress was told she would never have children but she proved the doctors wrong and had her son Jack at the age of 42 with her ex Tim Robbins. Her second son Miles was born three years later when Susan was 45.
